Shelaputin Igor Igorevich
Shelaputin Igor Igorevich, born in 1955 in Moscow, graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, specialized in computational mathematics, and defended his dissertation. Simultaneously, he studied cinematography at the "Voenfilm" film studio courses (teacher D.V. Todorov) and at the Correspondence National University of Arts, Faculty of Photographic Art (teacher K. Chakhiryan). Participated in exhibitions since 1978, publications since 1983. Since 1992, professional photographer.

Author about himself
For me, photographs are images of the transcendent primal world, and in particular, photographs of women portray the relentless power of Eros. Everyone feels it, but almost no one realizes that this is the most obvious intrusion of the otherworldly into ours. I create images of that world. Therefore, I reject stylizations, psychologism, emotions, quotations, and associative hints—they are all too earthly. Only a symbol can be the Image of that world in ours. For the same reason, I see photographs not so much as entertainment, but as having a magical purpose: after all, the original prototype can enter our world through its image.
