Dmitry Sergeevich Grigorovich
Dmitry Grigorovich was born in 1951 on Sakhalin Island, in the city of Kholmsk. In 1978, he graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Art College named after V. I. Surikov. Since 1989, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Since 1980, he has participated in regional, republican, and union exhibitions, as well as exhibitions abroad: in Italy, Turkey, Germany, Finland, Japan, the USA, and South Korea.

His works are held in the Art Museum in Chernogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, and in private collections in Russia and abroad.

In the art of Dmitry Grigorovich, traditions and an acute sense of modernity have converged, characteristic of thoughtful artists revealing the contradictions of our era. Childhood and youth spent in the vast expanses of Siberia, with its mighty rivers, virgin taiga, and harsh climate, shaped his worldview and are deeply embedded in his work.
Based on the pyramid of classical art and mastering the techniques of the old masters, while not using elaborate compositions with many characters, the artist's works are, in a sense, ascetic, which gives them the spirit of romantic symbolism. Heightening ordinary situations on canvas with mystical moments of reality, the soft shimmer of light flowing into tonal shades invisible to the eye, the artist stops these moments in his works, in anticipation of the next miracle.
Looking at Dmitry's paintings, viewers subconsciously recall situations and images dear to their feelings, creating a desire for presence, tranquility, and contemplation.
In portraits of horses, in their eyes we see all the depth of emotions and the understanding of the mysteries of life, inherent to humans.
The merit of the artist is not that he has mastered the complex technique of the old masters, long forgotten and lost, but in his view of the world—a wonderful space filled with passions and peace.
