Timur Sazhin, Lidia Fomina
They work in collaboration. In 1967, they graduated from the Moscow Higher School of Art and Industry named after S.G. Stroganov. From 1969 to 1971, they worked as designers at the Krasny May glass factory. They have worked for the Russian Embassy in Paris, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex in Vietnam, the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation, the State Tretyakov Gallery, and participated in the reconstruction of the Presidential Palace in the Kremlin. They were awarded the silver medal of the USSR Academy of Arts for a set of chandeliers in the Church of John the Baptist in Moscow.

Their works are held in the State Historical Museum, the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art in Moscow, the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the Corning Museum of Glass (USA), and provincial museums throughout Russia.

Critic
Undoubtedly, the works of SAFO occupy a significant place among the plastic explorations of glass artists over time. It is hard to imagine their creativity without the brilliant experiments of early 20th-century French masters such as A. Cros and F. Décorchemont with the 'pate de verre' (glass paste) technique, which marked the beginning of modern glass sculpture. However, despite the importance of the historically developed lexicon of technical methods, the art of contemporary glass is deeply individual. The authorial glasswork of Timur Sazhin and Lidia Fomina is irrefutable evidence of this. Their works are known both in Russia and abroad, held in major museum collections, and their ongoing participation in domestic and international exhibitions highlights the role of SAFO in studio glass, representing a cultural phenomenon of the last third of the departing century.
