Cherry blossom decor by Rudolf Schenker, also known as model "Chinese flower vessel smooth". On a displayed round stand, baluster-shaped corpus with a drawn-in neck and swinging rim. On the wall, in a dark petrol-colored background, a full-surface decor of cherry blossom branches with individual butterflies and a bird sitting on a branch. Polychrome underglaze, as well as gold and platinum painting. Fir green background bands on the rim and stand. Decor by Rudolf Schenker. Restored; scepter and painter's mark. Height 32.5 cm. Based on models of Japanese cloisonné enamel works. Rudolf Schenker created several designs for floral decors, mostly with cherry and lotus blossoms, for various vase models of KPM Berlin at the beginning of the 1880s. The so-called Japonism, influenced by Japanese art, had a lasting impact on various European art movements as well as on the arts and crafts.
