"Easter egg with putto on a turtle" On the back of a turtle sits a putto in a slightly staggering posture, straining with raised arms and supporting an Easter egg with the help of its head. The ovoid body with jaggedly torn mouth, framed below by plastic-applied flower tendrils. On both sides of the wall, reserve-framed, impressionistically charming flower arrangements of chrysanthemums, apple blossoms, and lily of the valley, as well as a spring-like landscape with a farmstead and a putto sitting on clouds with a violin, in delicate, pastel-toned soft painting, surrounded by rich relief gold decoration of tendrils and lattice work with delicate yellow or coral red background areas and partly powdered gold. Painter's monogram "J." for Feodor Jäkel (landscape painter since 1882 at KPM). Designed by Paul Schley. First edition 1890. Model number 3523. Restored; scepter and painter's mark. Height 26 cm. The model is registered as "Easter egg carried by a boy sitting on a turtle". See Dietz, Sabet Collection, p. 441, 490. A pair of figural porcelain centerpieces as Easter eggs, carried by a cupid, very finely painted with blossoms, a cupid motif, and a landscape. Painter's monogram "J." for F. Jäkel. Restored. Scepter and painter's mark. KPM Berlin. End of the 19th century.
