Table centerpiece on rectangular, supported by sturdy, curved leaf feet, rocaille-relief base. Oval bowl on four volute feet adorned with acanthus leaf relief. Bombed, vertically divided corpus over shell-relief attachment with projecting, passively swinging rim zone in floral pierced work with rosette relief in repetition. Side handles in the form of flower-crowned putti herms with garlands over scale-like relief, voluted shaft. Surrounding relief-plastic, staffed in delicate pink and sea green, rocaille decor. On the wall, large, profiled reserves with arabesque gold-rank decor on lilac-colored background, on both sides spared, surrounded by lush, plastic flower festoons, crowned cartouche with fine Watteau scene, depicting a courtly society playing music. In the mirror, large gold-rank rosette and corresponding, wide gold-rank border. Base. Polychrome painting with rich gold staffage. Either Ernst August Leuteritz, around 1882-1885. Model number N 129 and 2772. Sword marks. Meissen. 2nd half of the 19th century. Bowl height 30 cm, 54 cm x 32 cm. Base height 13 cm, 27 cm x 27 cm. Ernst August Leuteritz (1818-1893), the most productive Meissen modeler in the second half of the 19th century; his extensive oeuvre includes various figures, numerous vase forms, tableware and vessel forms, as well as table centerpieces, initially in the style of Neo-Gothic and Renaissance, later mainly in a Baroque manner.
