1 637 800.00

A round base, adorned with delicate gold rocaille, featuring a large lily flower, palm leaves, and plastic applied flower branches. A fully sculpted representation of the winged Psyche floating above the clouds, depicted as a half-act with long, wavy hair, covered with flowing white fabric. In her raised left hand, she holds the wind-blown veil. Accentuated, delicate-toned, polychrome painting with gold contours. Possibly by Paul Helmig, 1900. Model number S 165. Some restoration; minimal damage; crossed swords mark. Height: 28.5 cm. Paul Helmig (1859-1939) visited the drawing school of the Meissen Manufactory in 1872 and was an apprentice in embossing between 1875 and 1879, while he was also trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Dresden. From 1882 until his retirement in 1925, he worked as a modeler at the Meissen Manufactory. He arranged a nearly identical model of Psyche in an imposing clock pendulum with the mythological figures of Zephyr, Flora, and Chronos as early as 1899. See Just Meissen Jugendstil Porzellane, p. 156, Jedding, p. 149. A rare porcelain figure of Psyche. Insignificantly restored. Minor chipped. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Circa 1900.
