Schwabe on a profiled, marbled round pedestal, standing or sitting Cupid as a philosopher, shooting an arrow, a robber with bow and arrow behind a rose bush, coquette, beggar, hero standing on a dragon, blind person, victor with heart-target, minstrel with lute or mending a heart, sitting on a skull blowing soap bubbles, gluing a heart with a screw clamp, intertwining two hearts, piercing a heart and with slipper, with rose staff, with broken heart, with bound hands and wings, turning a mask with a nose, with slipper, with disappointed basket behind the ear, stuck in a trap, knocking on a heart, turning a long nose. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Either Heinrich Schwabe, around 1877-1880. L-series: L 101 - L 114, L 116 - L 121, L 123 - L 126. Partially minimal restoration/repairs; sword mark. H. - 21.5 cm. Extensive collection gathered over 20 years of almost complete series of Cupid figures, designed by the native Wiesbaden sculptor Heinrich Schwabe (born 1847), who studied at the School of Applied Arts in Nuremberg. He worked as a teacher between 1875 and 1907. Until 1899, the Meissen Manufactory acquired several models, including various Cupid models. See Jedding, Meissener Porzellan, p. 163. Original price approx. €90,000 - €100,000. A 24-piece collection of porcelain Cupid figures collected over 20 years. Partly minor restored/chipped. Crossed swords mark. Meissen.
