Following an East Asian model, this porcelain figure depicts a seated eagle in a statuary, majestic posture, with wings folded and head turned to the right. The feather detailing is lightly reliefed and stylized. It is possibly the work of either Johann Gottlieb Kirchner or Georg Fritzsch, around 1730. Model number 76001. Marked with crossed swords and impressed whiteware mark. Height: 55.5 cm. Provenance: From the estate of a significant North German private collection. A porcelain figure of an eagle on a base.
