On a rocaille-reliefed pedestal stand or sit musicians and singers in Rococo attire. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Either Friedrich Elias Meyer and Johann Joachim Kaendler, around 1754/55. Partially restored; crossed swords mark. H. 13 cm - 16 cm. Represented in a graceful posture with elegant courtly attire, these models depict instrumentalists and vocalists from a series comprising a total of sixteen figures. Thematically comparable, the nearly contemporaneous Meissen porcelain series include the famous Monkey Orchestra and the Girls' Orchestra.
