In the foreground, there is a gracefully curved, ornamented pedestal. On top of it, there is a marble obelisk adorned with ribbons and a laurel wreath, featuring a relief portrait of Tsarina Catherine II. Grouped around it are three cupids with laurel wreaths and lyres as Apollo, a chronicle, and a feather as a historian, as well as a trumpet as Fama, personification of fame and rumor.
