In the foreground, there is a gracefully curved, ornamented pedestal. On top of it, there is a marble obelisk adorned with ribbons and a laurel wreath, featuring a relief portrait of Tsarina Catherine II. Grouped around it are three cupids with laurel wreaths and lyres as Apollo, a chronicle, and a feather as a historian, as well as a trumpet as Fama, personification of fame and rumor. The polychrome painting is embellished with gold accents. Possibly by Michel Victor Acier. Model number 11. Restored. Sword mark. Height 31 cm. Width 21 cm. This is a rendition of a figurine group designed by Acier in 1774 for the so-called "Great Russian Order" for Tsarina Catherine II of Russia, also known as Catherine the Great.
