In the foreground, there is a gracefully curved, ornamented pedestal. On top of it, a composed group of three cherubs is situated between the entablature, architrave, and capital, with a ruler and blueprint for planning and measuring the architectural components. The polychrome painting is adorned with gold staffage. Possibly by Michel Victor Acier. Model number 6. Some restoration is evident; crossed swords mark. Height: 31 cm. Width: 21 cm. This is a rendition of a figure group designed by Acier in 1774 from the so-called "Great Russian Order" for Empress Catherine II of Russia, also known as Catherine the Great. See Pietzsch, Kat.
