Oval, adorned with plastic flower tendrils, base. On a horse in the gentleman's seat, a Tsarina rides in the uniform of a high-ranking officer of the Preobrazhensky Guards, with the Grand Cross of the Order of St. Andrew. At her side, a page with a turban. Polychrome painting with rich, partly etched gold decoration. Possibly by Johann Joachim Kaendler. Model number 1059. Restored; sword mark. Height 23.5 cm. Originally made for Empress Elizabeth Petrovna of Russia, based on a painting by Georg Christoph Grooth (1716-1749), which Kaendler only used as a copy for this purpose and sent to Meissen.
