"The Gentleness of Childhood" ("Les douceurs de l'enfance"). Original title: "Achteckiger Sockel mit Ornamentbordüre" (Octagonal base with ornamental border). Depicted on a padded Louis XVI bed, lying on a floral blanket, is a small child wearing a lace-trimmed bonnet and holding a rattle hanging from a ribbon on the side, playfully turning towards a dog. The polychrome painting is embellished with gold accents. Possibly by Michel Victor Acier, around 1774/75. Marked on the back with model number E77. In minimally damaged condition; there are firing cracks and minor chipping. Marked with crossed swords. Height: 18 cm. Dimensions: 19 cm x 13 cm. A porcelain figure group of a baby with a dog titled "The Placidness of Childhood". Made by Meissen in the first half of the 19th century.
