An oval, relief-decorated acanthus leaf border surrounds a pedestal with a fully plastic, scenic representation. Standing on a naturalistic terrain, supported by a marble column, is a young lady in a striped skirt with a pink apron and a polka-dotted bodice. Her finely drawn hair is covered by a pompous feather hat. Approaching from the side is a cavalier in a striped suit and a green patterned shirt. Behind the column, a crouching boy in an observant position holds a black hat in his hands, on which a cooing pair of doves sits. Reciprocal lying column stump. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Possibly by Johann Carl Schönheit, 1787. Model number I 60. Insignificant restoration/chipping; crossed swords mark. Height 31 cm. A large porcelain figure group of a couple, titled "The Approach." Meissen. Late 19th century.
