On a quadratic, profiled base in a dynamic pose stands Apollo, covered with a delicate yellow, loosely draped cloth, in the process of embracing the fleeing Daphne, who is already partially transformed into a laurel tree. Daphne, with long, flowing, curly hair, has her arms stretched upwards. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Possibly by Christian Gottfried Jüchtzer after the famous marble sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Model number I 9. Unidentified restoration; sword mark. Height 36 cm.
