I present to you an exquisite piece of art: a dark brown, chamotte-fired earthenware. This sculpture showcases a fully three-dimensional group of two Chinese figures, elegantly placed on an oval pedestal. The figures are adorned with a mid-sized clock housing, shaped like a pagoda. The glaze on this piece is a delicate combination of white-gray and light turquoise-green, with a beautifully crackled texture. The clock hands are painted in black, while the outlines are meticulously highlighted with golden cold painting. This artwork is attributed to a skilled artist or workshop, with a monogram that is not clearly discernible. It measures 39 cm in height. This figurative German or Austrian glazed and painted earthenware is a remarkable example of Art Deco craftsmanship. It is believed to have been created around the years 1920-1930.
