Brass and copper. Rectangular, rounded on the long sides, smooth surface with pierced and accentuated by small squares and longitudinal stripes gallery framing on low feet. Laterally slightly inclined, round handles with corresponding decor. Either Gustave Serrurier-Bovy. H. 5.5 cm. 60 cm x 31.5 cm. Gustave Serrurier-Bovy (1858-1910) counts, alongside Henry van de Velde and Victor Horta, among the most important innovators of the arts and crafts in Belgium. His works clearly show the stylistic proximity to the English Arts and Crafts Movement, as well as his engagement with William Morris during a stay in London in 1884.
