(1892 St. Petersburg - 1990 Paris) "Fedora". Original title Bronze with cold painting in silver, gold, and bronze tones as well as black, 1989. Signed, numbered 444/500, dated "C. 1989", stamp of the publisher "SEVEN ARTS LONDON" and foundry mark. The statuette, designed in the Art Deco style, depicts a young, fashionable lady in a long evening dress with a fan, with elongated proportions of the figure. Erté was fascinated by the tragic-romantic story of Fedora, which was also told in the opera of the same name by Umberto Giordano (1898), later sung by Maria Callas. Around 1920, Erté already created costume designs comparable to the bronze for the interpretation of Ganna Walska in the title role. H. 48.7 cm. Cold painted bronze, 1989.
