(1904 Pressburg/Bratislava - 2005 Altlengbach/Lower Austria) Nude figure of a young woman with a ball. Bronze, brown patinated. Signed, stamp of the Slvako Mikic foundry, "E.A." - exemplar outside of the numbered edition of 7 copies. Standing on an approximately round plinth, supporting herself on a tree trunk, the nude in the tradition of classical modernism. Reitter studied sculpture at the Academy in Vienna, 1941-1943 in Munich, and then with Josef Mülner in Vienna. Reitter, himself a successful gymnast, first gained significant attention when his life-size bronze "Turner on the Bar" was awarded a prize in Austria in 1947 and was exhibited during the 1948 Olympic Games at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. As a result, he gained a master's studio at the Academy with Fritz Wotruba. The female nude became a focal point of his oeuvre. From 1970, Reitter had his studio in Altlengbach. H. 63 cm.
