(1882 Dresden - 1926 ibid) Europe on the Bull Bronze, dark brown patinated. Signed "E. Artur Berger". On a rectangular plinth stands a standing bull with a tilted head, on which a nude figure of Europe is riding, turned to her left side, leading the bull with a rope on its nose ring. Large, rare Jugendstil figure group by the Dresden sculptor, who attended the School of Arts and Crafts and completed a study at the Art Academy from 1905 to 1914, where he was a master student of Robert Diez and received the large silver medal of the academy (1911) as well as the small golden medal (1913). In addition to smaller sculptures, Berger became particularly known since 1913 for his works for monuments and other sculptures in public space. H. 42.2 cm; W. approx. 46 cm.
