A 12-piece porcelain espresso set with decor "1001 night" for six people, designed by Prof. Heinz Werner. The set includes a pot, creamer, sugar bowl, six cups with saucers, tea caddy, candle holder, and vase. The wall and mirror display scenes inspired by the tales of "1001 Nights". The form was developed by Ludwig Zepner, and the decor was designed by Heinz Werner. The polychrome painting features rich poliergold decoration and partial gilding. The height of the pot is 19 cm, and the cups are 7 cm high. As comprehensive and varied as the chinoiseries by Johann Gregorius Hoeroldt, Prof. Heinz Werner here takes on the theme of the oriental fairy tale world. With over 500 individual motifs, the "1001 night" decor is the largest modern service of the Meissen manufactory. While the first scenes by Heinz Werner from 1969 still strongly adhered to the graphic style, the oriental motifs in the renewed interpretation or further development of the material in the early 1970s take on a highly painterly character with freely rhythmic, delicate brushwork, airy garments, and filigree drapery. See Meissen contours catalog, p. 72, 90; catalog of painting designs "1001 night", State Porcelain Manufactory Meissen GmbH, p. 5. A 12-piece porcelain espresso set with decor "1001 night" for six people, designed by Prof. Heinz Werner. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. 2nd half 20th century.
