Böttger stoneware, partially polished on the base, hind legs, and snout. Rectangular base with plastic, naturalistic terrain. Fully plastic representation of two swiftly running and jumping wild boars, intertwined with root and oak leaf motifs. Possibly by Erich Oehme, 1944. Possibly with additional date inscription from 1944. Model number R 228. Condition unknown, possibly damaged or restored. Impressed sword mark with the addition "Böttger stoneware". Height 27.5 cm, length 54 cm. The animal sculptor Erich Oehme (1889-1970) studied at the School of Applied Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. From 1913, he was employed as a modeler at the Meissen Manufactory and from 1937, he was the head of the design department. His artistic work was interrupted in 1918 and 1944 due to military service. Numerous animal figures were executed based on his designs, including some in Böttger stoneware at the end of the 1930s and the beginning of the 1940s.
