White porcelain. On a high, curved oval base lying on stylized terrain, a ram. Either Max Esser, 1925. Model no. H 262. Inscription uncertain; insignificant restoration; crossed swords and "Reineke Fuchs" mark. Height 18.5 cm, 23 cm x 10 cm. Esser created between 1919 and 1926 the impressive ensemble of 75 pieces, the most significant Gesamtkunstwerk of the Pfeiffer era, "Reineke Fuchs," based on the epic by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, which represents the most important work of art with its animal sculptures.
