White porcelain with gold contouring. On a square profiled pedestal, a naked Diana sits on a rock, with her head lowered and her upper body leaning forward. She wears sandals on her feet. To the side lies her clothing, already discarded, as well as a quiver filled with arrows. Possibly by Paul Scheurich, around 1920/21. Model number G 271. Minor restoration. Sword mark. Height 31 cm. The model "Seated Diana" was exhibited at the Berlin Secession before being formed in 1921 and first offered for sale by the manufactory in November 1922. Scheurich's characteristic, imaginative figures are characterized by an elegant gracefulness with erotic and exotic features. See J. Raffael, P. Scheurich, Meissen Manuscripts, Special Issue VIII, No. 17.2. An Art Deco polychrome painted porcelain figure of the seated Diana while bathing, modeled by P. Scheurich. Minor restored. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Circa 1935-1945.
