On a bench sits a mother engaged in a loving, intimate conversation with her son, who stands beside her unclothed on another bench. This is a polychrome painting with touches of gold, possibly by Theodor Eichler, around 1914-1916. Model number E 246. Restored; crossed swords mark. Height: 24.5 cm. The sculptor Th. Eichler (1868-1946), who studied under Robert Diez at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, worked as a modeler at the Meissen Manufactory since 1903 and further developed his skills in Paris in 1906/07. He created a series of Jugendstil designs, particularly elegant ladies, groups with young women, and nude statues. Provenance: From the estate of a significant private collection in Northern Germany. A rare Art Nouveau porcelain figure group titled "Mother and Child." Restored. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Around 1916-1923.
