A socle carried by four rocaille feet. A young couple ice skating, elegantly and rhythmically moving forward, facing each other and holding hands. They are dressed in the typical style of the Belle Epoque. The polychrome painting is adorned with gold staffage. Possibly by Adolf Rehm, around 1897/98. Model number Q 155. Restored; sword mark. Height: 21 cm. This rare Jugendstil group by Rehm can be seen as a thematic precursor to the models of ice skating couples and individual figures designed by Alfred König around 1910/11. Provenance: From the estate of a significant North German private collection. A rare Art Nouveau pair of porcelain figure group depicting an ice skater couple. Restored. Crossed swords mark. Meissen, around 1898-1923.
