On a round, naturalistically designed pedestal stands a shepherdess in traditional clothing, wearing a red, green-striped skirt, apron, and black bonnet. On her back, she carries a wicker basket with her son sitting inside. Her apron is filled with harvested beets. The painting is polychrome. Possibly by Hugo Spieler, around 1897/98. Model number Q 190, condition unknown. Sword mark. Height 16 cm. From a series of 25 costume figures by sculptor Hugo Spieler. Provenance: From the estate of a significant private collection in northern Germany. A rare porcelain figure of a shepherdess in traditional Brunswick costume. Insignificantly restored. Crossed swords mark. Meissen, around 1898-1923.
