Silver. Flat stand transitioning into a rectangular body with strongly recessed walls, tailored by a relief sculpted, circumferential ornamental band of stylized flower buds and leaves. Hinged, slightly domed lid with a narrow rim and embossed flower and vine decoration. Visible keyhole with key. Gilt on the inside. Marked with 13 lot, assay, city mark, and indistinct master's mark. Weight approximately 485 g. Height 7 cm. 13.3 cm x 8.7 cm. See Rosenberg, Vol. IV, No. 9399, 9400. Provenance: From the dissolution of the private collection of Horst Abke, Springe. An Austrian-Hungarian Biedermeier silver sugar box with key. Gilt inside. Standard mark 13 lot, assay, city, and indistinct master's mark. Austria-Hungary. Budapest. Circa 1841.
