Ahlden/Aller - 9-09-2023
In the original, the set consists of 36 pieces of silver cutlery, adorned with metal fittings and covered in black, embossed leather, housed in a wooden case. The handles are made of porcelain, with a four-pronged design that tapers slightly at the end. The handles are decorated with ornamental lines, and on the underside, there is the coat of arms of the Counts Kinsky, painted in striking overglaze colors of gold and orange, or gray. Unfortunately, the key is missing. The set is marked with hallmarks, assay marks, and maker's marks. The case measures 8 cm in height, 36.5 cm in length, and 25.5 cm in width. For further reference, see Neuwirth, Wiener Silber 1781-1866, page 217, P1966. This is an Austrian-Hungarian 36-piece silver cutlery set with porcelain handles and a painted coat of arms of the Counts Kinsky, presented in its original, leather-covered wooden case. The key is missing. It bears assay and maker's marks. Made by the firm Michael Goldschmidt Söhne in Prague, around 1890.
