Silver. Curved stand with displayed, wavy base and surrounding band of relief foliage. Cylindrical body with lavishly sculpted relief depicting a drunken Bacchante procession with donkey in front of an architectonic and wooded landscape. On a semi-spherical hinged lid, adorned with mascarons and fruit bundles and a wavy edge, a fully sculpted faun playing the pan flute as a knob. The thumb rest decorated with a mascaron and pierced volutes. C-shaped curved handle with relief sculpted herm. Gilt inside. Signed, maker's marks and pseudo marks. Weight approx. 540 g.
