Representation with lively surface modeling in the tradition of Pablo Picasso, in which the massive body, the shortened legs, and the elongated neck strongly contribute to expressiveness. Martin studied at the Academy in Karlsruhe under Wilhelm Gerstel and was a student of Fritz Nuss in 1951/52. As a free sculptor, he created over 80 works for public spaces from 1952 onwards.
