Sintenis, who is primarily known for her animal bronzes today, engaged with the theme of the athlete and particularly the boxer multiple times between 1925 and 1933. Her bronze sculpture created in 1925, with the lively modeled, youthfully beautiful body of the middleweight boxer Erich Brandl, was the first, followed by depictions of the boxers Helmut Hartkopp (1930) and Paul Wallner (1933). In 1926, Sintenis exhibited the bronze sculpture of Brandl in the autumn exhibition of the Berlin Secession (catalogue no. 199), in the same year in the major exhibition "Art and Sport, Art and Physical Exercises" in Düsseldorf, and in 1929 in the international exhibition "The Beautiful Human in New Art" in Darmstadt; the influential art magazine "Deutsche Kunst und Dekoration" featured a stucco example (vol. 59, 1926/27). Through this, the statuette became known to a wide audience interested in both art and sport. H. 40.7 cm. According to Crevel (1930), one example was in the collection of Max Schmeling in Düsseldorf. Other examples of this rare bronze in the art trade can be found in the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, in the art collections of Chemnitz (Gunzenhauser Foundation), in the Heydt Museum in Wuppertal, and in the Sprengel Museum in Hanover.
