(1873 Mönchengladbach - 1955 Berlin) "Spartan Archer". Original title Bronze, dark patinated. Signed; Cast Heinz & Barth, Berlin, around 1915 to around 1924; Foundry inscription "Cast Heinz-Barth". Grey-black, white and ochre veined marble pedestal. Kneeling on a rectangular plinth, a Greek archer as a nude. The sculptor, active in Berlin from 1904, created alongside dancers particularly female and male nudes. In 1915, he exhibited the bronze "Spartan Archer" at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition. Overall height 44 cm. Dark patinated bronze. Signed. Inscribed by the foundry Heinz & Barth, Berlin. Marble base.
