The famous poster was created in collaboration with the New York activist group "AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power" (ACT UP), the year after his HIV diagnosis. Printed in an edition of 10,000 copies, it was publicly displayed by ACT UP in New York City in early 1990. Most of the copies were lost or destroyed due to weather and time.
