For the individually crafted artful box illustrated by Édouard Goerg for the book "Vathek" by William Beckford, a custom-made Schuber was created. The Schuber is made of colored and black leather, adorned with relief-like embellishments featuring two female figures, and lined with gold metallic-colored leather. On the front right breast, there is an insertable red pen for attachment. The dimensions of the Schuber are 28.5 cm x 21 cm x 8.3 cm. Housed within the Schuber is William Beckford's "Vathek," illustrated by Édouard Goerg, published in Paris in 1962, one of 500 copies (total edition of 850). The loose sheets are in the original cover and in the cardboard lid and cardboard Schuber. The dimensions are 27 cm x 17.5 cm x 7 cm. Exlibris by John Hunov on the inside cover. Light signs of age and use. Apeiron was founded by the German couple Cornelia and Florian Lamprecht in Berlin. Their work was based on a fusion of art, architecture, and fashion, which they continued until the 1990s. Provenance: Collection Birta Inge Christensen & John Hunov, Copenhagen. An exceptional, custom-made leather book slipcase with detachable side lid by Apeiron. Housed in the slipcase is William Beckford's "Vathek" with illustrations by Édouard Goerg, published in Paris in 1962. Minor signs of use and age.
