One of 8 sheets from the series "Proie facile", presumably published in 1973, outside of the edition of 100 copies of the portfolio. Plate size 17.3 cm x 11.5 cm. Sheet 32.5 cm x 25 cm. Hayter created the series of 8 prints in 1938, inspired by Paul Eluard's poem "Facile proie" and subsequently, in 1939, together with the same poem, published as a portfolio by Guy Levis Mano in Paris. The plates were initially considered lost, but could - after their rediscovery - be reprinted in 1973/1974 by the Association American Artists in New York in an edition of 100 copies.
