The Austrian sculptor and ceramist Hans Adametz (1896-1966) studied at the School of Applied Arts in Vienna under Michael Powolny, which led him to the circle of the Wiener Werkstätte. In Vienna, he worked for the "Keramos - Wiener Kunstkeramik und Porzellanmanufaktur", founded in 1920, in which Josef Hoffmann was also involved. In 1924, he participated in the Werkbund exhibition "Die Form", and in 1925, he received a gold medal at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris.
