On a set foot, four-sided flattened, conically tapering pouch shape with a short neck. Overlaid glass with opalescent underlay, overlaid with dark green and violet. Elaborate, etched and polished decoration of blooming cornflower stems in a flat martelé cut ground. Signed "DAUM NANCY", Lorraine cross. Minimal manufacturing flaw at the shoulder. Height 14.8 cm. Compare Klesse/Mayr, catalog "Sammlung Funke-Kaiser", no. 48. Provenance: From the estate of Dr. Zahn, Northern Germany. Mainly collected at international auctions, fairs, and glass fairs between the 1980s and 2000s. A rare French Daum Frères cameo glass vase with acid-etched decor of cornflowers and cut martelé ground. Minor flaw to the shoulder due to manufacturing. France. Nancy. Daum Frères. Circa 1898.
