Silver, partially gilded. A slightly conically expanding corpus with an protruding lip rim. Smooth, with narrow profile lines delineating the edges. The surface is adorned with two finely engraved bandwork borders over a punched background. Gilded on the inside. The underside of the base bears a later added owner's inscription and date "Joachim Blecken 1752 8 September". Hallmarks include an elder man's initial "O" and the mark of master Hinrich Hamman (master since 1725). Weighs approximately 95 grams. Height is 9 cm. Compare with Schliemann, Volume II, page 10, BZ 56, page 331, number 379. A German Baroque parcel-gilt silver beaker by Hinrich Hamman (active since 1725). With later engraved owner's inscription and dated. Gilt on the inside. Assay, master's, and assay master's mark "O". German, Hamburg, circa 1738.
