Silver. Over oval, flat base pressed, strongly bulging body with deep-set, tapering spout. Surface articulated by gracefully curved, rolled-up lines and adorned with engraved floral and volute scrolls. High, domed hinged lid with wooden baluster knob and a crown in the form of a stylized flower bud. Curved and voluted handle made of finely grained, dark brown wood. Knob probably added later. Signed, hallmarked, master Wilhelm Knutzen (became master in 1737). Weight approximately 365 g. Height 15 cm. See Scheffler, Niedersachsen, Vol. I, No. 149, Fig. 1766, 1767.
