Rare Baroque teapot

Silver. Over a flat base, a pressed, strongly bulging body with a deep-set, tapering spout. The surface is adorned with gracefully curved, vertical lines. The high, arched hinged lid is crowned with a fully sculpted flower as a finial. The wooden handle is elegantly curved. The interior retains traces of gilding. Marked with an as yet unknown maker's mark "K". Minimal damage and repairs; weight approximately 565 g; height 18.5 cm. See Scheffler, Rheinland-Westfalen, vol. II, fig. 915. A rare German Baroque silver tea pot. Inside with remains of gilding. Minor dents and repaired. Assay mark, unknown master's mark "K". German. Münster. Circa 1760.
