Decorative Pair of Amphorae in Empire Style

Plated, glass. Trumpet-shaped, surrounded by tongue-shaped flutes and an acanthus leaf wreath. Tall, slender, conical body with a stepped, correspondingly fluted shoulder and a fluted, leaf and ribbon decorated neck with a slightly flared rim. From there, two high ascending, faceted handles. The wall is pierced, worked with vine tendrils and meander bands, and centrally adorned with a wide band with dancing maenads. Made of petrol green-colored glass. Signed by the manufacturer. Height: 39.5 cm. A pair of German Empire style plated and glass amphoras. Maker's mark: German, Geißlingen, Württembergische Metallwarenfabik WMF. Circa 1900.
