Tin. Cuboid-shaped body with an exhibited, strongly profiled base and mouth zone. Flat, square lid with a fully plastic representation of a scratching dog after a Nuremberg Renaissance model. Engraved on the wall and framed by laurel wreaths, a bust and the monogram of Friedrich II of Prussia, or in the oval two crossed tobacco pipes and a coat of arms framed by an opulent helmet crest, monogram and date "A.V.v.M. 1796". On the lid, three unknown maker's marks with a rose and a striding lion. Height 19 cm. 13 cm x 13 cm. See Arenhövel, Eisen statt Gold, Berlin 1982, p. 211, fig. 454 (scratching dog).
