Faience. Decor in cobalt blue sharp painterly style. A clay-blue glazed, so-called bird jug with diagonally ribbed body, horizontally ribbed neck and tassel. The spherical body of the second jug with figuratively staffed landscape decor. Handle described; pewter-mounted foot and pewter lid, an inset medallion with a scenic representation of the coronation of Joseph I as King of Hungary in 1687. Height 30.5 cm and 35 cm. Two South German blue and white pewter-mounted faience pitchers. Flaws to the handles. South German, possibly from Frankfurt or Hanau, as well as Franconia. End of the 17th century/1st quarter of the 18th century.
