Faience. Exhibited foot, spherical belly, lightly conical neck with a delineated lip rim and elongated spout. Decor in cobalt blue with floral bouquets, scattered flowers and leaves, as well as an insect. Glaze intact; pewter mounting and lid. Height 18 cm. A comparable Hanau jug can be found in the Grassi Museum in Leipzig (Inventory number V 1535); see Thomas Rudi: Catalogue "European Faience 17th-18th Century", Leipzig 2017, catalogue number 153. A German, probably Hanau, blue and white faience jug with pewter mounting and lid. Minor chips to the glaze. German, likely Hanau. Circa 1710-1720.
