The Dominican Father Dominikus Torck (died 1755), who lived in Berlin, commissioned the cup as a gift from King Friedrich Wilhelm I, who was the first permanent clergyman in Brandenburg and Pomerania in 1722 and also received his appointment decree as a Catholic priest in the royal troops. Friedrich II also wanted only Dominican priests from Halberstadt as field chaplains for his army. As the first chaplain at the newly established Invalidenhaus in Berlin, he hired Father Dominikus Pauli from Halberstadt in 1748. A rare German footed glass beaker with engraved coat of arms and dedication dated 1743. Brandenburg. Zechlin. 1743.
