A couple of Russian Baroque goblets

Colorless glass, cut. Slightly ascending disc foot with bottom rosette in wedge and olive cut. Baluster shaft with large, inset air bubble, facetted or honeycomb facetted. The conical cup honeycomb facetted, on the front side a highly cut oval medallion. Inside is a finely cut, partially gilded, ligated monogram "EP" of the Empress (Tsarina) Elisabeth I Petrovna Romanova of Russia under the Russian imperial crown, framed by branches; the other goblet with a flower basket and net pattern. Gilded lip rim. Height 16.2 cm. Provenance: North German art collection, acquired in the 1920s in the Berlin art trade; likely from the possession of the former Empress and Tsarina Maria Feodorovna, born Princess of Denmark (1847-1928) at Hvidovre Castle. A rare pair of Russian cut and engraved glass goblets. One goblet with the monogram of the Russian Empress (Tsarina) Elisabeth I of Russia, the other with a basket of flowers. Russia. St. Petersburg. 1741-1762.
