"The Women's Battle of the Trousers" is the title of this colorless glass artwork, featuring a finely cut depiction. The piece has a lightly conical shape and a matte finish. On one side, there is a scene depicting seven women quarreling over a pair of men's trousers. The corresponding inscription reads: "The women's battle of the trousers, about a couple of trousers, here seven women lamenting because no man has to fight for them, the trousers satisfy them." The artwork measures 11.8 cm in height. The depiction and inscription are based on a copperplate engraving or peepshow print by Albrecht Schmid (1667 Ulm - 1744 Augsburg), of which an example is held in the Royal Library in Copenhagen. This rare Bohemian engraved glass beaker dates back to the first quarter of the 18th century.
