Jean Pierre Feuillet was a French porcelain decorator and artist, who in 1820 established his own workshop in Paris. He purchased porcelain from various French manufactories, including the famous Sèvres manufactory, and decorated his pieces in the Sèvres style. The son of the head pastry chef to the Prince of Condé, Jean-Pierre Feuillet (1777–1840) studied painting at a school founded by the Prince in his château at Chantilly, near Paris. On July 20, 1814, Feuillet settled in Paris as one of the first porcelain decorators on Rue de la Paix, under the Prince’s patronage. Feuillet earned a reputation as one of the finest porcelain decorators in the city. His suppliers of white porcelain were always of the highest quality, including such companies as Fast and the Deroche Frères. He was particularly well known for his Alpine landscapes and the quality of his gilding. After his death in 1840, Jean Boyer took over the workshop and continued in the same tradition.
